Amber Akilla is an Australian-born Chinese creative consultant, writer, model, and DJ based in Shanghai. Passionate about art, fashion, and music, she began DJing while completing a law and arts degree at the University of Western Australia. After graduation, she moved to Shanghai to connect with her heritage and explore creative opportunities, choosing a non-traditional career path.

Since 2017 she has worked as a creative consultant and DJed for international artists and across Asia. Amber has worked with brands including Chanel, Hermès, Dior, Gucci, Saint Laurent, Paco Rabanne, Nike, Adidas, New Balance, 88rising and Hypebae.

On the side, Amber is also the host for podcast and online community, Friend Crush. Through Friend Crush, Amber explores topics such as dating, interpersonal relationships and self-empowerment, offering insights from a fresh and unique lens.

Amber has sought personal and community empowerment from a young age and is also the co-founder NVSHU女术, a multi-disciplinary feminist creative project that centers women and the LGBTQI community.
