Other Projects

In 2018, Amber Akilla and Asian Eyez co-founded NVSHU⼥术, a multidisciplinary creative project that aims to empower and connect women and the LGBTQI community.

Inspired by the ancient nüshū ⼥书 women’s script from southern China, the project began as a DJ workshop and has expanded to parties, events and panel talks.

In 2019, they developed an Instagram AR filter known as ‘NVSHU SUTRA’ with LA based Korean-American artist Jenny Yoo.

The project inspired a number of other DJs and women-led initiatives and collectives in China and across the world.
